About CivicNet

CivicNet is dedicated to providing Indianapolis/Marion County online information and services for its citizens, businesses and governments.

Thousands of interactive eGovernment transactions are made possible through dozens of custom-designed, online applications. These applications allow businesses and citizens to conduct business with Indianapolis/Marion County government via the Internet - no waiting in line, no inconveniences, and no mail delay.

CivicNet is developed and managed through a contract with Indiana Interactive, Inc. (III), a subsidiary of NIC, Inc. NIC has similar agreements with other state and local governments. State portals managed by NIC include Indiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Kentucky, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, Tennessee, Utah and Virginia. Local portals managed by NIC include the City of Tampa (FL), City of San Francisco (CA), Dallas County (TX), Kent County (MI), and the City of Corpus Christi (TX).

CivicNet uses a self-supporting, public-private model that provides funding for the continued development of interactive services. It is important to note that CivicNet is not replacing the traditional means for obtaining records or services; if those services are free, the public may continue to obtain them for free. Most of CivicNet's interactive services are geared toward the business user. Research has shown that the majority of businesses are willing to pay a fee for instant access to records that might otherwise take weeks to obtain. CivicNet invites your questions and comments. Please don't hesitate to contact the network by e-mail at webmaster@civicnet.net or by telephone at 317-233-2010 or 800-236-5446.
